How to Register a Patient in mediSIGHT

This guide will show you how to add a patient to mediSIGHT who is already registered in Cerner / eRecord PAS (i.e. they already have a MRN).  After completing this guide you will find the patient is searchable in mediSIGHT within 30 seconds.

This guide will create an encounter for a patient who already has a MRN.  It will not open a Pathway (This will be done by ABC when accepting a referral).
Detailed Guide to Add a New Patient to mediSIGHT
  1. Open eRecord Citrix
  2. Open PM Office

  1. Expand the Conversation Group and choose Direct Services

  1. Enter the patient details and click Search
  2. Confirm the correct patient

If you are unable to find the correct patient, it is likely that they are not registered at NUTH.  Follow the instructions here to register a new patient.

  1. Click Add Encounter

  1. An Organization search screen opens
  2. Enter royal and click the Search icon, then OK

  1. Select “UK Resident for 12 Months?” – Unable to Validate

  1. Click the Visit Details tab
  2. Complete the following details – it is possible to type into the boxes
    • Source of Referral: GP Referral
    • Treatment Function: Ophthalmology (Take care to select the correct Ophthalmology Function.  The first option is for Sunderland)
    • Main Specialty: Ophthalmology
    • Building: RV
    • Department/Ward: RVEOPD

  1. Click OK.
  2. The following confirmation screen will be displayed:

  1. The patient will now be registered and searchable within mediSIGHT within approximately 30 seconds.
