Ordering a Lung Function Test on an IP Encounter
Scenario
Your patient has attended hospital as an Inpatient and you need to order a lung function test for them.
Instructions
- With the patient record open, click on +Add on the Request/ Care Plans tab of the blue menu.

- In the Search field, type Lung Function – you will see various Lung Function options appear in the box below.
- Select Lung Function Test Full Order Set.

- From the opening window, select the component/s you need, then click OK bottom right of your screen.
- The Lung Function Test Full Order Set will now be highlighted blue, click Done in the bottom right corner of your screen to view your order.

- When you see a circle with a white cross in the Orders for Signature window, there are mandatory order details that need completing before the order can be signed off, click on the order to highlight blue.

- The mandatory fields will be highlighted yellow, these need to be completed, or you will be unable to sign the order off – complete the mandatory details and as much of the non – mandatory fields as possible.
- Click Sign.

Your order has now been placed and will be viewable in the orders tab.
