Quick Guide
When students create a note in PowerChart this needs to be signed in Message Centre by an authorised member of staff.
Sign a document
- Navigate to Message Centre and make sure you have the Inbox tab open
- Click Documents. The Display drop-down will show the available date range for viewing documents.
- Double click a document to open
- The document will open and an Action Pane will display in yellow towards the bottom of the screen
- To sign the Document without modifying select the Sign radio button then click OK to just action that document or click OK & Next to continue to the next item in the list
- To modify the Document select the modify icon
on the tool bar across the top. This will open the document where it can be modified and then signed.
Refuse document
Documents can be refused if they have been sent to the wrong person to authorise.
- Click on the Refuse radio button in the Action Pane located at the bottom of the screen.
- In the Reason field, select the option “Provide further information in comments“.
- Click on Additional Forward Action:.
- Select Sign.
- Input the recipient’s name or specify a pool and click on the binoculars button. Complete search in the window that opens.
- Leave a comment in the comments field (required).
- Click on OK if just actioning for one patient or OK & Next to action and move on to the next patient in the list.
The document will be sent to the Message Centre of the selected person.
