6. Selecting the correct encounter
How to open the correct encounter for this patient visit from within Ambulatory Organiser.
Following these steps ensures you are always in the correct outpatient encounter for this visit. Searching for the patient via a different method may result in the wrong encounter being selected.
From the List tab in Ambulatory Organiser with a Resource selected:
- Click on a Patient name to open the Patient record.
- The correct Outpatient encounter is now showing on the Patient record (top right of the screen).
Please note, ordering tests or prescribing on the wrong patient encounter causes significant problems. For example, patients may miss blood tests or be unable to be given their medications in pharmacy.
