How to document and manage allergy information in the patient record within PowerChart. 

Add an allergy
  1. In any workflow screen, select the Allergies and Adverse Reactions component from the light grey menu on the left.
  2. In the search box on the right, search for the specific allergy.
  3. Select the appropriate allergy from the list.
  4. In the more details pop-up window on the right, select the appropriate Severity from the drop down list.
  5. For Food or other non-drug allergies the type must be selected from the Category drop down.
  6. Add reactions if known.
  7. Comments can be added in the Comments field.
  8. Click Save.
Modify, resolve or cancel an allergy
  1. In any workflow screen, select the Allergies and Adverse Reactions component from the light grey menu on the left.
  2. Select the Allergy that needs to be updated.
  3. Select Modify.
  4. Make the required changes.
  5. To resolve or cancel, select the appropriate option in the Status drop down.
  6. Click Save.
Add NKA or NKMA
  1. In any workflow screen, select the Allergies and Adverse Reactions component from the light grey menu on the left.
  2. Towards the left, select the button for No Known Allergies or No Known Medication Allergies.
  3. The selected option will be recorded.
