Overview of the Note Type List Filter drop down field when manually adding a note via Select Other Note or the Document Viewing +Add button

When a note is created via the Select Other Note option at the bottom of the light grey workflow menu or via Document Viewing +Add, a ‘Type’ must by selected. The Note Type and Note Title will display as headings in the Clinical Notes and Document Viewing sections. This is a primary way the note can be identified later.

Note Type List Filter – All

When set to All every note type will display in the Type drop down.

Note Type List Filter – Position

When set to Position limited note types will display in the Type drop down – for most positions this list is not useful.

Note Type List Filter – Personal

When set to Personal a custom list which you can set yourself will display. It is recommended that everyone sets up a personal list as this will speed up the process of choosing the correct note type. Personal lists are usually related to your speciality. See the Personal Note Type List set up page for more information

Your ward or department may have a standard list of note types that you are required to use for different types of documentation
