How to document when a medication dose cannot be given in the Patient Record.

  1. To record when the scheduled dose of a medication has not been given, click on the dose box to open the drug administration pop-up window. 
  1. Tick the Not Given tick box at the bottom of the window .
  2. In the Reason mandatory field, select the appropriate reason from the drop down .
  3. If the reason you have been unable to give the scheduled dose is not listed, select Other (Record Comments) then click the Comments button to add the details .
  4. Sign the documentation using the green tick in the top left hand corner of the window .
