How to complete an out patient prescription when the medication will be supplied by the out patient pharmacy in the hospital. 

1. In the Clinician workflow, click on New Order Entry in the Outpatient tab
2. Ensure Outpatient Prescription is selected from the drop down window
3. Search for and select the Medication required and if applicable the most appropriate order sentence
4. If ordering more than one medication repeat Step 3
5. If Ordering Clinician window appears select Communication Type
6. Open shopping basket and Sign order
7. Complete any missing required details for order and sign
8. Discern Outpatient Prescription window pops-up
9. If Prescription contains Controlled Drugs an instruction to complete a Green Form for Patient to take to Pharmacy appears.
10. Complete the following fields in the Pharmacy Outpatient Prescription window:
    • Where should the Patient get their medication dispensed? – Outpatient Pharmacy
    • What is your current contact number? – Place current contact number
    • Collection Priority – Tick relevant box
    • Other relevant information for this OP Prescription – Add any relevant information if necessary

11. Sign the form by clicking Green tick
12. The Medication ordered is now visible in the Home Medications section of the Outpatient Workflow
