Getting Started<\/div>\n

  1. Launch Fluency Direct<\/strong> (does not auto-start).<\/li>\n
  2. Open patient record<\/strong> in PowerChart on the correct encounter<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Check the MRN in the Pill<\/strong> matches the patient.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    Create and Dictate Document<\/div>\n
      \n
    1. Select Document Creation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    2. Complete the new document’s details box.<\/li>\n
    3. Open template.<\/li>\n
    4. Dictate directly into a text field:<\/li>\n
        \n
      1. Click text field (has a pencil icon).<\/li>\n
      2. Press and hold Record<\/strong> to dictate directly.<\/li>\n
      3. Release Record<\/strong> when not dictating.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n
        Use Tear off to view document and patient record side-by-side<\/div>\n
          \n
        1. Current window should be the clinical letter.<\/li>\n
        2. Click on Tear Off in the top grey menu bar. \"\"<\/li>\n
        3. The clinical letter window is now a new window and can be dragged to one side of the screen or onto another display screen.<\/li>\n
        4. The background window is the patient record, and you can select whichever section you wish to review.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Correct Errors<\/div>
          \nIn-line Correction<\/strong> will only make a correction to the text in the current documentation:<\/p>\n
            \n
          1. Say \u201cselect [text]<\/strong>\u201d or use the keyboard and mouse to highlight text.<\/li>\n
          2. Say \u201c[text]<\/strong>\u201d and the text is replaced.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Error Correction Window<\/strong> will force Fluency Direct to learn the word\/phrase.<\/p>\n

              \n
            1. Say \u201cselect [text]<\/strong>\u201d.<\/li>\n
            2. Say \u201ccorrect selection<\/strong>\u201d to open the error correction window.<\/li>\n
            3. You will be presented with a list of choices. To accept a choice, say \u201cchoose [number]<\/strong>\u201d.<\/li>\n
            4. Below the choices are a list of formatting commands. To use, say the command name.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Spell Mode<\/strong> will allow you to correct the spelling of a word. <\/p>\n

                \n
              1. Highlight the word to correct.<\/li>\n
              2. Enable Spell Mode by saying \u201cspell mode<\/strong>\u201d. <\/li>\n
              3. Vocally spell the word.<\/li>\n
              4. Say \u201csave\u201d<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
                Improve Recognition<\/div>\n

                Adding a Dictionary Entry<\/strong><\/p>\n

                  \n
                1. Say \u201cadd to dictionary<\/strong>\u201d.<\/li>\n
                2. The Add a word window will appear.<\/li>\n
                3. Enter the written for of the word to be added to the dictionary.<\/li>\n
                4. Based on the written form, the pronunciation will be created. You can change this by clicking on the blue Change link.<\/li>\n
                5. Select the Record pronunciation<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n
                6. Hold down the Record <\/strong>button and dictate the word.<\/li>\n
                7. You will then be returned to the Add a Word dialog.<\/li>\n
                8. Select the category<\/strong> for the dictionary entry.<\/li>\n
                9. Click Save<\/strong> or say \u201csave<\/strong>\u201d to finish.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  \nCreate custom commands (e.g. Signature autotext) <\/strong><\/p>\n

                    \n
                  1. Press Play<\/strong> and say \u201copen commands<\/strong>\u201d.<\/li>\n
                  2. Select command group. You should have a personal group at the top of the list called \u201cYour firstname Your surname\u2019s Commands\u201d.<\/li>\n
                  3. Commands within that group will be displayed to the right side of the window.<\/li>\n
                  4. Click +Add<\/strong> in the top right corner to create a new command.<\/li>\n
                  5. The Add a command window opens.<\/li>\n
                  6. Give the command a name.<\/li>\n
                  7. In the Steps tab, choose \u201cText<\/strong>\u201d.<\/li>\n
                  8. Type the signature text into the text field. <\/li>\n
                  9. The Details tab is useful if you wish to write a description for this command. You can also set command availability to be everywhere, only in certain applications, etc. \n
                  10. Click Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
                  11. Click Apply<\/strong> and then click OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
                  12. To use your new Autotext, place the cursor where you wish to insert. Press Play<\/strong> and say \u201cinsert signature<\/strong>\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    Save Options<\/div>\n
                      \n
                    1. Save as Draft<\/strong> – needs admin review<\/li>\n
                    2. Save and Finalise<\/strong> – no review required<\/li>\n
                    3. Sign and Send<\/strong> – no review required and you are a signing clinician.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
                      <\/i> You must stop the recording BEFORE saving (or audio won’t save).<\/div>\n
                      Key Rules<\/div>\n
                        \n
                      • Dictate one letter for one patient at a time.<\/li>\n
                      • Confirm the MRN in the Pill matches that of the record you are going to dictate against.
                        \nSay “Clear MRN” if incorrect patient linked.<\/li>\n
                      • Green pill = audio recording and voice recognition are both working
                        \nBlue pill = audio recording is working but not voice recognition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        Communication<\/div>
                        \nUse Message Pad<\/strong> to send notes to admin.<\/p>\n
                        Performance Tips<\/div>\n
                          \n
                        • Correct errors regularly.<\/li>\n
                        • Build dictionary.<\/li>\n
                        • Train your profile as you work – this quickly improves accuracy.<\/li>\n
                        • If recognition continues to be poor despite calibration and training, request a profile reset<\/strong> by raising an INC with Service Desk. Note, commands\/dictionary will be retained.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
