Inpatient Ordering of Blood Tests<\/h1>\n
Scenario<\/div>\n

You need to place a blood test order: either for immediate collection; collection later on; or to be collected by a phlebotomist.<\/p>\n

Having navigated to the Orders for Signature screen <\/strong>for the test(s) you are requesting, you will be required to fill in all relevant details:<\/p>\n

If you are ordering a Blood Test for immediate collection <\/div>\n

  1. From the Orders for Signature screen, select the order(s) in the top part of the screen.<\/li>\n
  2. Complete the following details, mandatory fields are highlighted in yellow, in the bottom of the screen:\n

    • Are you collecting the sample now? \u2013 select\u00a0YES<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Collection Priority \u2013 as appropriate<\/li>\n
    • Reason for request \u2013 as appropriate<\/li>\n
    • Collection Date and Time \u2013 as appropriate<\/li>\n
    • Do you want to print a label? \u2013 select YES<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Lead Clinician to receive report? \u2013 as appropriate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Click\u00a0Sign:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
