How-To Set up Your News Profile<\/div>\n

This guide will give instructions on setting up your profile for News items on the new Intranet.<\/p>\n

Instructions<\/div>\n

This applies when you first use the new intranet and have not subscribed to any news categories.<\/p>\n

  1. Go to the intranet homepage to begin the process <\/span>intranet.newcastle-hospitals.nhs.uk<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Scroll down to the \u2018Department news\u2019 section. Note: You can find this below the \u2018Latest Trust news\u2019 and above the \u2018Upcoming events and training\u2019 sections.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Click on the \u2018Personalise my intranet\u2019. You will be taken to the \u2018My profile preferences\u2019 page<\/span>

  4. NOTE: You can also navigate to this page by clicking the person icon\"\" in the top right corner of the browser.\u00a0<\/span>You will be redirected to the \u2018Profile\u2019 page. From this page you can see which Optional news and Department news you are subscribed to.<\/span>

    \nMandatory news: <\/span><\/b>This section cannot be edited as they have been deemed as mandatory for all Trust staff to view. They will appear automatically on the News feed on the homepage and in the News section.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Optional News: <\/span><\/b>You can sign up to subscribe to Optional news updates. You can do this by clicking the box next to the category you would like to subscribe to, and then clicking the blue \u2018Submit\u2019<\/span>\u00a0button.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Scroll down to the \u2018Department news\u2019 section. In this section you will see a number if checkboxes.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. If you are already subscribed to a department, the checkbox will display a white tick inside a blue box \"\" . Any departments you are not subscribed to will be left blank.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. To subscribe to a department, place your cursor over the blank checkbox and click. The box should now display a white tick inside a blue box.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Once you have finished selecting which departments you would like to subscribe to, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click \u2018Submit\u2019. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Navigate back to the homepage by clicking \u2018Home\u2019 in the top navigation bar.<\/span><\/li>\n
