  1. Click<\/strong> on Document Creation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. A box will appear called New Letter<\/strong> options as follows:\n
      \n
    • Encounter<\/strong> \u2013 Select current Inpatient encounter<\/strong> that the patient is being discharged from.<\/li>\n
    • Department<\/strong> \u2013 Default to the department chosen on admission.<\/li>\n
    • Clinic (optional)<\/strong> \u2013 Default to None<\/strong> for inpatient encounters. If there is information here, you are probably in the wrong encounter for the patient.<\/li>\n
    • Letter Type<\/strong> \u2013 Select Discharge Hub Referral<\/strong> from the list.<\/li>\n
    • Primary Recipient<\/strong> \u2013 Select Other<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Click<\/strong> on the Create button<\/strong>, the system will pull in the data that has been recorded for the patient.<\/li>\n
    • Review the letter, check for errors and modify the letter accordingly in accordance with the patient’s record.<\/li>\n
    • Select<\/strong> an option from the Lead Clinician<\/strong>, Signing Clinician<\/strong> and Position<\/strong> boxes.<\/li>\n
    • Click on the green Save and Finalise.<\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      <\/i> A warning message will advise that there are no recipients for this letter, click Yes <\/strong>to proceed.<\/div>\n

      A green success message should appear to confirm that the letter has been saved in Document Store.<\/p>\n

      The letter then needs to be saved locally to send on to the external team \u2013 see process below.<\/p>\n

      Saving a local copy of the letter:<\/div>\n
        \n
      1. Open Document Store<\/strong> form the Menu on the left of the screen.<\/li>\n
      2. Document Store may have a default view set to sort documents by Department, change the View by option to View by Document Type<\/strong> to easily find the Discharge Hub Referral letter that has been created.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
        To set View by Document Type<\/strong> as your default<\/div>\n
          \n
        1. Change the View by option to View by Document Type<\/strong> \u2013 as above.<\/strong><\/li>\n
        2. Click on the Save View<\/strong> icon, you will receive a message to say your settings have been saved, then the next time you open Document Store View by Document Type<\/strong> will be your default.<\/li>\n
        3. Open the document from the list and select Email<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
        4. Enter an nhs.net email address<\/strong> into the Email section.<\/li>\n
        5. An optional message can be added if the email is to be picked up by another member of the team.<\/li>\n
        6. Click Send.<\/strong><\/li>\n
        7. An email from Document Store with the Document link will be sent to the chosen email address. Open the email and click on the link.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
