How to document a dose of medication as not given in the Drug Chart.<\/p>\n

Instructions<\/div>\n

  1. From the Drug Chart, click on the dose administration box<\/strong> for the dose you want to record as Not Given.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \n
    1. The Recording pane will open. If you are retrospectively documenting<\/strong> a medication that was Not Given earlier, change the Performed date\/time <\/strong>to the correct<\/strong> time this was attempted.<\/li>\n
    2. \u00a0Tick the Not Given<\/strong> tick box at the bottom of the window\u00a0.<\/li>\n
    3. In the\u00a0Reason<\/strong> mandatory field, select the appropriate reason from the drop down.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      1. If the appropriate reason is not listed, select Other (Record Comments), <\/strong>and click<\/strong>\u00a0the\u00a0Comments<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        1. Type<\/strong> a comment and click OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          1. Sign<\/strong>\u00a0the documentation using the green tick in the top left hand corner of the window\u00a0\"\".<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            1. The dose administration box will now display Complete.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              1. Refresh<\/strong> the drug chart. Not Given <\/strong>and the reason\u00a0will now display in line with the drug name at the time<\/strong> entered.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                1. To view comments, right click<\/strong> on Not Given<\/strong> and select View Comments<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
