{"id":2143,"date":"2021-09-20T11:48:32","date_gmt":"2021-09-20T11:48:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test.nuth-itt.co.uk\/?page_id=2143"},"modified":"2026-02-11T17:10:27","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T17:10:27","slug":"non-phlebotomy-orders","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/training.nuth-itt.co.uk\/?page_id=2143","title":{"rendered":"Non Phlebotomy Orders"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>How to order other non-blood tests from the Workflow.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-heading\">You have opened the patient record on an Outpatient encounter:<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-heading\"><div class=\"guideSection\" id=\"\">From the Workflow<\/div><\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>From any tab containing it, click on <strong>New Order Entry.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Type the <strong>name<\/strong> or <strong>abbreviated name<\/strong> of the order you wish to find and press <strong>enter<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Select relevant search result and it will drop into the basket in the top right side of the screen.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The <strong>Ordering Clinician<\/strong> window pops up for non-clinicians. Ensure you search for and select the correct <strong>Ordering Clinician<\/strong>, then select the appropriate Communication type and click OK.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Click on the shopping basket and choose either <strong>Sign<\/strong> or <strong>Modify Details<\/strong> in the <strong>Orders for Signature<\/strong> window.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Fill in <strong>details<\/strong>.\u00a0 You must complete the <strong>mandatory fields<\/strong> (in yellow) to place the order.<\/li>\r\n<li>Click <strong>Sign.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<!-- \/wp:post-content -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-heading\"><div class=\"guideSection\" id=\"\">From Requests\/ Care Plans<\/div><\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>Select <strong>Requests\/Care Plans<\/strong> from blue menu on the left side of the patient record.<\/li>\r\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\r\n<li>Click on <strong>+Add<\/strong> button and a new window will open.<\/li>\r\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\r\n<li>Ensure filter is set to \u2018<strong>contains<\/strong>\u2019 for all searches except x-rays (XR) and scans (CT, US), in which case, you must set filter to \u2018<strong>starts with<\/strong>\u2019 or no results will be found.<\/li>\r\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\r\n<li>In the search box, type the <strong>name<\/strong> or <strong>abbreviated name<\/strong> of the order you wish to find.<\/li>\r\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\r\n<li>Click the <strong>relevant order<\/strong> in search results.<\/li>\r\n<!-- \/wp:list-item -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:list-item -->\r\n<li>The <strong>Ordering Clinician<\/strong> window pops up for non-clinicians.
