Completing Assessments<\/h1>\r\n
Scenario<\/div>\r\n

How to complete an assessment in the Assessments \/ Fluid Balance section of the patient record. Additional guidance regarding how to use keyboard controls when completing assessments can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n

Instructions<\/div>\r\n
    \r\n
  1. Select the relevant navigator band from the left hand column e.g. Adult Quick View.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n
  2. Select the relevant section within the band e.g. Measurements.<\/li>\r\n
  3. Start the assessment by double clicking<\/strong> at the top of the relevant time column next to the name of the section, this will:\r\n
      \r\n
    • Add a tick<\/strong> indicating that the section is ready for data entry.<\/li>\r\n
    • Move your mouse into the first field<\/strong> in the section so you can start documenting.<\/li>\r\n
    • Activate any calculated fields.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

      <\/i> Please note: if you do not double-click in the top of the section you can still enter data but you will need to double-click each field one after the other to open it, which takes more time.<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

      1. Once the tick is added, the first answer box will automatically open. Answers can be:<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

        Single select list<\/strong> – Choose an answer, the next item will open automatically<\/p>\r\n

        Multi select list<\/strong> –\u00a0Click the answer(s) to tick them and\u00a0then press\u00a0Enter\u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0Tab\u00a0<\/strong>or click the ‘X<\/strong>‘ in the corner of the box to move on<\/td>\r\n\"\"<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
        Free text<\/strong> – Type in the answer and then press\u00a0Enter <\/strong>or Tab <\/strong>or click into the next field to move on<\/td>\r\n\"\"<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
        Time\/ Date<\/strong> – pressing T<\/strong> on the keyboard will default today’s date and the current time into the field. Press Enter <\/strong>to move on<\/td>\r\n\"\"<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n
        Staff look-up<\/strong> – enter the name of the staff member you wish to search for then click the magnifying glass icon<\/td>\r\n\"\"<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<\/table>\r\n<\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
          \r\n
        1. Some sections might contain guidance or icons:\r\n
            \r\n
          • Reference Text –<\/b> Click the link to read associated the guidance.\"\"<\/li>\r\n
          • Conditional Field –<\/strong> Conditional field trigger \u2013 may populate further assessment fields depending on answer given.\"\"<\/li>\r\n
          • Related to conditional field<\/strong> – indicates this field has been triggered due to the answer in a conditional field.\"\"<\/li>\r\n
          • Calculated field <\/b>– indicates field is automatically calculated. Hover on the calculator to see which data it relates to.\"\"<\/li>\r\n
          • Repeatable group – <\/strong>allows the assessment to be record against a labelled group.\"\"<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n
          • As you complete fields they are shown in purple<\/span>.<\/strong> Purple indicates an unsigned entry.<\/li>\r\n
          • When you have finished click the sign<\/strong> button (green tick to the top left) to confirm and save your entries.<\/li>\r\n
          • Signed entries will now display in black<\/strong> text.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n
