If a patient is intended for an emergency admission but they haven’t yet arrived, then a PreAdmission can be added<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Open CapMgmt<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Select the PreAdmit <\/b>tab<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. If the PreAdmit tab is not visible, it can be selected through Personalization \/ My Gadgets<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      1. Click the button for PM Conversation<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        1. Select\u00a0CM Inpatient Pre Admission<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          1. Search for your patient:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            a.\u00a0 \u00a0Using their\u00a0MRN or NHS Number<\/strong>\u00a0(If you don\u2019t have a number, use the\u00a0patient initials and DOB<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

            b.\u00a0 \u00a0Click the\u00a0Search<\/strong>\u00a0button<\/p>\n

            c.\u00a0 \u00a0Select the\u00a0correct<\/strong>\u00a0patient<\/p>\n

            d.\u00a0 Select\u00a0Add Encounter<\/strong><\/p>\n

              \n
            1. Add your organisation workbase, click the magnifying glass and select the site before clicking\u00a0OK<\/strong><\/li>\n
            2. If you cannot see the mandatory fields, right-click anywhere in the grey area of the form and select\u00a0Highlight Required Fields <\/strong><\/li>\n
            3. Check the demographic details are correct and update if required\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
            4. Add the Patient\u00a0NHS Number<\/strong> if necessary<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              <\/i> If demographic information needs to be updated, various scenarios can be found in our support guide\u00a0Add or Update Patient Demographics<\/a> <\/div><\/em><\/p>\n

              Once the demographics have been checked and updated, the visit details will need to be completed.<\/p>\n

              Visit Details Tab<\/div><\/strong><\/p>\n

              From the\u00a0Visit Details Tab<\/strong>, \"\" complete the missing fields:<\/p>\n

                1. Admission Method:\u00a0<\/em>Who sent the patient to your ward<\/li>\n
                2. Source of Admission:\u00a0<\/em>Where the patient has come from (if it\u2019s their home address; select Usual Place of Residence)<\/li>\n
                3. Referring Clinician: \u00a0<\/em>Use the magnifying glass to locate the referring clinician typing the surname and first name of the referring clinician.\u00a0 If the referring clinician is not found, use\u00a0NotKnown \u2013 Referring Clinician Not Known<\/strong><\/li>\n
                4. Estimated Arrive Date:<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>Enter the estimated arrival date (a \u201cT<\/strong>\u201d to add today\u2019s date)<\/li>\n
                5. Estimated Arrive Time:<\/em> Enter the estimated arrival time<\/li>\n
                6. Lead Clinician:<\/em>\u00a0Type the\u00a0Surname of the Lead Clinician<\/strong>, click the\u00a0magnifying glass, double click\u00a0<\/strong>to select the correct clinician<\/li>\n
                7. Treatment Function:<\/em>\u00a0Select the\u00a0correct treatment<\/strong>\u00a0from the dropdown list<\/li>\n
                8. Ward:\u00a0<\/em>Click the dropdown and select the ward the patient is being admitted to<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  Next of Kin Tab<\/div><\/strong><\/p>\n

                  From the\u00a0Next of Kin Tab<\/strong>, \"\"\u00a0 search for the next of kin:<\/p>\n

                    \n
                  1. \n
                      \n
                    1. Complete the NOKCONFIRMATION field.\u00a0 If\u00a0Patient Refused to Provide NOK Confirmation<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0Unable to Provide NOK<\/em>\u00a0is selected, click\u00a0OK\u00a0<\/strong>to complete the admission.\u00a0 For\u00a0NOK Confirmed<\/em>\u00a0you will need to complete further information (see below)<\/li>\n
                    2. NOK Confirmed<\/strong>\n
                        \n
                      1. Complete the\u00a0NOKs Relationship to Patient<\/strong>\u00a0field<\/li>\n
                      2. Click the\u00a0Search for Next of Kin\u00a0<\/strong>button to search for the next of kin, clicking\u00a0OK<\/strong>\u00a0if located (if the next of kin is a known patient, the demographic details will populate and select\u00a0OK<\/strong>\u00a0to complete the admission). If the next of kin is not known to the Trust, follow the steps below<\/li>\n
                      3. If the Search for Next of Kin returns no results, select\u00a0Add Patient<\/strong><\/li>\n
                      4. Add the gender for the next of kin<\/li>\n
                      5. Add a contact telephone number<\/li>\n
                      6. Enter the Postcode and search for the next of kin address in the same way that the patient address was located<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                        <\/i> For Paediatric Patients, further information will need to be completed on the Guardian\/Parental Responsibility Tab using the same process as adding Next of Kin<\/div><\/em><\/i><\/p>\n
