Pathways<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"DRAFT\"><\/span>DRAFT<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"guideSection\" id=\"\">Background<\/div>\n<p>All patients within mediSIGHT are seen under Active Pathways.\u00a0 These equate to the subspecialties related to each clinic type.\u00a0 We have 15 Pathways active in mediSIGHT.\u00a0 To ensure the best management of the patient, including the preparation of patient for clinic and theatre, it is essential that you use the correct pathway for each encounter.<\/p>\n<p>This guide will advise you how to add pathways, edit pathways and remove pathways from a patient&#8217;s record.<\/p>\n<div class=\"guideSection\" id=\"\">Pathways<\/div>\n<p>The current pathways available are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>General<\/li>\n<li>Adult Motility<\/li>\n<li>Botox<\/li>\n<li>Cataract<\/li>\n<li>Cornea<\/li>\n<li>Genetics<\/li>\n<li>Glaucoma<\/li>\n<li>Hydroxy \/ Naevus \/ Sickle<\/li>\n<li>Macular<\/li>\n<li>Medical Retina (incl DR)<\/li>\n<li>Neuro-Ophthalmology<\/li>\n<li>Oculoplastics<\/li>\n<li>Optometry \/ Low Vision<\/li>\n<li>Paediatrics<\/li>\n<li>Vitreoretinal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"guideSection\" id=\"\">Active Pathways<\/div>\n<p>A patient&#8217;s active pathways can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/training.nuth-itt.co.uk\/?page_id=14818#PtOverview\">Patient Overview<\/a> screen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Opening a pathway<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you create a new encounter you must choose a pathway.\u00a0 If the pathway is not already active then it will be activated.<\/p>\n<div class=\"warnSection\"><i class=\"fas fa-exclamation-circle\" style=\font-size:3rem\"><\/i>  Once saved the pathway of the encounter cannot be changed.\u00a0 You must ensure that you take care opening the correct pathway.<\/div>\n<p><strong>Modifying a pathway<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The pathway can only be modified until you save the encounter.\u00a0 Once saved, the pathway cannot be modified, even by system administrators.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Closing a pathway<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When completing the plan in an encounter, select\u00a0<strong>Discharge.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"guideSection\" id=\"\">Pathway Management<\/div>\n<p>In addition to the relatively automated pathway management described above, by using the clinical encounters, it is possible to view and manage the pathways in the Pathway section of the <a href=\"https:\/\/training.nuth-itt.co.uk\/?page_id=14818#PtOverview\">Navigation bar<\/a>.\u00a0 An example of the screen is below.<\/p>\n<p><img <strong>Current<\/strong> will only show Active pathways (open pathways)<\/li>\n<li>Open a new pathway using the\u00a0<strong>Add new<\/strong> button<\/li>\n<li>Click an existing pathway in the list to view the details and open the\u00a0<strong>Edit \/ Delete\u00a0<\/strong>buttons (5)<\/li>\n<li>Edit or Delete the current pathway<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"guideSection\" id=\"\">Correcting Pathways<\/div>\n<p>Following migration there are many incorrect pathways.\u00a0 Incorrect pathways should be corrected by all users.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If a pathway is completely incorrect (The patient has never been under the specialty) then\u00a0<strong>Delete\u00a0<\/strong>the pathway<\/li>\n<li>If a pathway should be closed (The patient was under the specialty, but is now discharged) then:\n<ul>\n<li>Choose the pathway as above (4)<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Edit<\/strong> (5)<\/li>\n<li>Change the\u00a0<strong>Status<\/strong> to Discharged<\/li>\n<li>Complete
