{"id":13360,"date":"2025-05-02T09:25:05","date_gmt":"2025-05-02T09:25:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/training.nuth-itt.co.uk\/?page_id=13360"},"modified":"2026-03-18T13:08:27","modified_gmt":"2026-03-18T13:08:27","slug":"emergency-inpatient-admission-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/training.nuth-itt.co.uk\/?page_id=13360","title":{"rendered":"Emergency Inpatient Admission"},"content":{"rendered":"<ol>\n<li>On the <strong>Bed Board<\/strong>, click the button for\u00a0<strong>PM Conversation<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>CM Emergency Inpatient Admission<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Search for your patient and select <strong>Add Encounter\u00a0<\/strong>if the patient already has a record within the trust (ensure you select the correct one), and choose\u00a0<strong>Add Patient\u00a0<\/strong>if they do not.<\/li>\n<li>Add your worksite, click the magnifying glass and select the site before clicking <strong>OK<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If you are registering a new patient, a warning will ask if you are <strong>absolutely certain<\/strong> this is a new patient you are registering. If you are <strong>certain<\/strong> this is a new patient that hasn\u2019t been seen at this Trust in the past, select<strong> No<\/strong> (no meaning you do not want to search the record again).<\/li>\n<li>Complete the demographic information if registering a new patient, or validate them if not. If you do not know the patient&#8217;s home phone number or they only have a mobile enter &#8220;nk&#8221; in that field.<\/li>\n<li>In the GP field, search for the GP name and use the magnifying glass to associate it with the correct practice. If the patient&#8217;s GP is unknown or they do not have one, access the detailed guide linked on this page for more information. If the patient&#8217;s address is not known or not in the UK, please also refer to this guide.<\/li>\n<li>Populate the\u00a0<strong>Visit Details\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Next of Kin\u00a0<\/strong>tabs with the relevant information. For Paediatric Patients, further information will need to be completed on the Guardian\/Parental Responsibility Tab using the same process as adding Next of Kin.<\/li>\n<li>Once all information has been entered, click <strong>OK<\/strong> to complete the admission.
