How to Place a Non-Phlebotomy order within OP via PowerChart<\/p>\n

<\/i> You have opened the patient record on an Outpatient encounter, opening the patient record via Ambulatory Organiser<\/strong> ensures the correct encounter<\/div>\n
Instructions<\/div>\n

<\/span>From the Workflow<\/span><\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. From any tab containing it, click on New Order Entry<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. Type the name<\/strong> or abbreviated name<\/strong> of the order you wish to find and press enter<\/strong>. Depending on the selection there may be an additional option to stipulate the priority.<\/li>\n
  3. Select the relevant search result and it will drop into the basket at the top right side of the screen. This is verified by the number highlighted in green.<\/li>\n
  4. The Ordering Clinician<\/strong> window pops up for non-clinicians. Ensure that you search for, and select the correct Ordering Clinician<\/strong> then select the appropriate Communication type<\/strong> and click OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n

  5. Click on the shopping basket and choose either Sign<\/strong> or Modify Details<\/strong> in the Orders for Signature<\/strong> window.<\/li>\n
  6. Fill in the details.<\/strong> You must complete the mandatory fields<\/strong> (in yellow) to place the order.<\/li>\n
  7. Click Sign<\/strong>.\n

    <\/span>From Requests\/Care Plans<\/span><\/h3>\n

    1. Select Requests\/Care Plans<\/strong> from the blue menu on the left hand side of the patient record.<\/li>\n
    2. Click on +Add <\/strong> button and a new window will open.<\/li>\n
    3. Ensure that the filter is set to ‘contains’<\/strong> for all searches – except x-rays (XR) and scans (CT, US), in which case, you must set the filter to ‘starts with’<\/strong> or no results will be found.<\/li>\n
    4. In the search box, type the name<\/strong> or the abbreviated name<\/strong>of the order that you wish to find.<\/li>\n
    5. Click the relevant order<\/strong> in search results.<\/li>\n
    6. The Ordering Clinician<\/strong> window pops up for non-clinicians. Ensure that you search for and select the correct Ordering Clinician<\/strong> then select the appropriate Communication type<\/strong> and click OK.<\/strong>
