How to Place a Blood Order within Outpatients for Collection by a Phlebotomist via the Nurse Workflow<\/P><\/p>\n

<\/i> If you see an Ordering Clinician window open, select the Lead Clinician name and appropriate Communication type, then click OK.<\/i><\/div>\n

  1. Open the Patient record from Ambulatory Organiser<\/strong> \u2013 this ensures you always open the correct encounter<\/i>.<\/li>\n
  2. Ensure that the appropriate Workflow<\/strong> is selected in the blue menu, click on the Outpatient tab<\/strong> then select New Order Entry – If Outpatient Tab is not showing, click + then select Outpatient to make the tab available.<\/i><\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Type the Blood Order Name<\/strong> in the Search Field.<\/li>\n
  4. Left click<\/strong> on the required order which will be showing in the left-hand side column \u2013 this will now be highlighted blue.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. Click on the number next to the basket icon which will now be highlighted Green<\/strong><\/li>\n
    2. On the Orders for Signature select Sign<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      1. Complete the following six Mandatory (Yellow) Fields <\/strong>;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
