How to Place a Blood Order within Outpatients for Collection by a Phlebotomist<\/p>\n

Instructions<\/div>\n

  1. Open the Patient record from Ambulatory Organiser<\/strong> \u2013 this ensures you always open the correct encounter<\/i>.<\/li>\n
  2. In the left-hand menu, click on +Add<\/strong> on the Requests\/Care Plans<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. Type the Blood Order Name<\/strong> in the Search Field.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \"\"<\/a><\n\n\n

        \n
      1. Left click<\/strong> on the required order which will be showing in the left-hand side column \u2013 this will now be highlighted blue.<\/li>\n

        \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

        1. If you see an Ordering Clinician<\/strong> window open, select the Lead
          \nClinician<\/strong> name and appropriate Communication type<\/strong>, then click OK.<\/p>\n

          1. Click Done<\/strong> in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            1. Complete the following Mandatory (Yellow) Fields <\/strong>;<\/li>\n

              1. Reason for Request – Type in Reason<\/strong><\/li>\n

                \n

              2. Collect immediately – No<\/strong><\/li>\n

                \n

              3. Do you want to print a label – No<\/strong><\/li>\n

                \n

              4. Collection Priority – Outpatient Phlebotomy<\/strong><\/li>\n

                \n

              5. Collection Date and Time – Type T<\/strong> on the keyboard to insert Today’s Date and N<\/strong>on the keyboard to insert the current time<\/li>\n

              6. Lead Clinician to receive report – Select<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n

                1. Click Sign.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
