Case Selection<\/h1>\n

Scenario<\/div>
\nYou need to document on a surgical patient’s record.
\nCase selection will allow you to search for a patient or list of patient’s by date, MRN or clinical staff.
\nAccessing a patient record this way will ensure you are on the correct encounter for this surgery.<\/p>\n

Instructions<\/div>
\n<\/p>\n

  1. From within Powerchart<\/strong>, select Case Selection<\/strong> from the View<\/strong> menu which is found in the top grey menu bar.
    \n\"\"<\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

  2. Click on surgical area location<\/strong>.
    \n\"\"<\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

  3. In the Location Selection pop up, click on an area<\/strong>. Remain at the top level, do not delve further into the location.
    \nThe system will remember this area the next time you enter the application. Change as required<\/em>.
    \n\"\"<\/li>\n

  4. Click OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n

    <\/p>\n

  5. Select case by Date<\/strong>, Patient<\/strong>, Case Number<\/strong>, Clinical Staff (Surgeon)<\/strong> or MRN<\/strong> by clicking on the appropriate radial button and filling in criteria.

  6. Click Retrieve<\/strong> to see list of patients.<\/li>\n
