Cancelling an Order<\/h1>\n

Scenario<\/div>
\nYou have opened your patient’s record on the correct encounter and wish to cancel an order from Requests\/Care Plans.<\/p>\n
<\/i> Orders are encounter specific, if you are not on the same encounter as the order, you will not see the order you wish to cancel.<\/div>\n

      \n
    1. Select the Requests\/ CarePlans menu item from the dark blue, left hand menu.
      \n\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          \n
        1. Check that the drop-down menu at the top of the list of orders is set to All Active Order<\/strong>s or All Orders (All Statuses):<\/strong>
          \n\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

           <\/p>\n

          1. Click the black tick<\/strong> to the left of the order you wish to cancel OR (see next step):
            \n\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            <\/i> If you cannot see a column with the black tick, you will need to enable the Quick Discontinue<\/strong> column using Customise View.<\/div>
            \n\"\"<\/p>\n
              \n
            1. Click on Customise View<\/strong> in the top right hand corner of the order window.<\/li>\n
            2. Select Quick Discontinue.<\/li>\n
            3. Click Add.<\/li>\n
            4. Use the up and down arrows to move the column to preferred location.<\/li>\n
            5. Click OK.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Locate the order that you wish to cancel and right-click it.<\/p>\n

              Click Cancel\/DC<\/strong> from the menu:

               <\/p>\n

              Depending on the order selected you may have to complete additional details such as the discontinue reason in the lower part of the screen:

               <\/p>\n

              Click the Orders for Signature<\/strong> button to the bottom right.<\/p>\n

               <\/p>\n

              Click Sign<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

               <\/p>\n

              Refresh<\/strong> the screen.<\/p>\n

               <\/p>\n

              <\/i> Once the order has been cancelled, orders can be viewed to show all orders (including cancelled orders).<\/div>\n

              Click on Order Profile<\/strong> component.<\/p>\n

               <\/p>\n

              Change your View to display All Orders (All Statuses)<\/strong>. This will display current and cancelled orders.
