Adding a patient to a TCI Waiting List \u2013 Non Theatre<\/h1>\n
Scenario\/Information<\/em><\/div>\n

If a patient is required to come into the Trust for a day case or inpatient stay, they will need to be added to a TCI list from which they will be admitted when they arrive on the ward\/dept<\/p>\n

Instruction<\/em><\/div>\n
    \n
  1. Open SchApptBook<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Select the Appointment<\/strong> tab<\/li>\n
  3. Search for and select the Appointment Type<\/strong> (tip: type \u201cnon\u201d to select Non Theatres Elective)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    <\/i> When searching for appointment types \u2013 search for \u201cnon\u201d to search for Non Theatres Elective<\/em><\/div>\n
      \n
    1. Appointment Location \u2013 select the hospital site where the patient will arrive<\/li>\n
    2. Patient Name \u2013 click the ellipsis (\u2026) to search for your patient by MRN or NHS Number <\/strong>(if this is not known, use initials and DOB to locate the correct patient)<\/li>\n
    3. Once the Patient Search results display, check the top part of the screen to confirm you have located the correct patient.<\/li>\n
    4. Select Add Encounter<\/strong><\/li>\n
    5. Select Yes<\/strong> to the pop up \u2013 Is this a Waiting list encounter?<\/li>\n
    6. Select Inpatient Waiting List <\/strong>from the Available Conversations pop up, click OK<\/strong><\/li>\n
    7. The patients\u2019 pathway information will display \u2013 select the correct pathway, click OK \u2013 If there is no pathway for this encounter, right click and select Add Episode, then select the newly created encounter<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The Inpatient Waiting List form displays<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Ensure the yellow required fields are switched on (right click in a grey space and select Highlight Required fields \u2013 first time use only) and complete any required information from the patient demographic page<\/li>\n
      2. Open the Inpatient Waiting List <\/strong>tab\n
          \n
        1. Complete the Date on Waiting List <\/strong>(tip: type the letter T to use todays\u2019 date)<\/li>\n
        2. Complete all other required fields<\/li>\n
        3. Complete the Ward that the patient will be admitted to<\/strong> \u2013 if this is not selected, the patient will not display on the TCI list for the Ward Clerk when the patient arrives (you do not need to locate a bay or bed)<\/li>\n
        4. Click OK<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

           <\/p>\n

          Once the relevant information has been completed on the Waiting List form, the system will return to SchApptBook<\/strong> where the remaining fields would be completed<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          1. Select the Lead Clinician<\/strong> (this should be the same Lead Clinician previously completed on the Inpatient Waiting List form)<\/li>\n
          2. Add any Additional Comments<\/li>\n
          3. Click the Move <\/strong>button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            <\/p>\n

            1. The Appointment Attributes dialog will open. In the lower portion of the screen, search for and select the procedure being performed (Non Theatre Orders start with \u201cNT\u201d)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
              <\/i> When searching for Non Theatre Orders, type the letters \u201cNT\u201d followed by the first few initials of the order<\/em><\/div>\n

              1. Complete any required fields (check the pre-populated information is correct and amend if necessary)<\/li>\n
              2. Click OK<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                19. The Non Theatres diary will now display<\/p>\n

                a.\u00a0 \u00a0Select the appropriate date for the admission<\/p>\n

                b.\u00a0 \u00a0Select the Non Theatre appointment time<\/p>\n

                c.\u00a0 \u00a0Click the Schedule<\/strong> button<\/p>\n

                d.\u00a0 \u00a0Check the Non Theatres Elective Schedule Information is correct and click OK<\/strong><\/p>\n

                e.\u00a0 \u00a0Click the Confirm<\/strong> button<\/p>\n

                \"\"<\/p>\n

                f.\u00a0 \u00a0Enter the location<\/strong> where the patient is to arrive for their appointment<\/p>\n

                g.\u00a0 \u00a0Click the Offer<\/strong> Tab and enter the date and time the patient is to arrive for their appointment, click OK<\/strong><\/p>\n

                20.\u00a0 The schedule Non Theatre Elective appointment is now confirmed<\/p>\n
